Rapid Analysis Probe (RAP)
Reflectance measurements with probe window in contact with sample
 Samples: dry powders, or fine grains, flat solid surfaces, or soft samples that the probe can press into
[sample area should be at least one-half inch (1.3 centimeters) in diameter]

The Rapid Analysis Probe is specifically designed for speedy spectral collection of powders and other fine-grained materials such as small uniform seeds and grains. Its beveled tip and metal jacket greatly speed up the spectral collection process of fine grained materials to optimize workflow. Simply insert the Rapid Analysis Probe into your fine-grained media, collect the spectrum, use a chemical wipe to swipe the probe clean and move on to the next sample. It’s that easy! The Rapid Analysis Probe comes with a gimbaled white reference for high performance calibration. It can be used for quantitative predictive models.

Sampling Accessories

• Contact Probe
The ASD High Intensity Contact Probe is designed for contact measurements of solid raw materials such as minerals, grains, other granular materials. Its innovative optical design minimizes measurement errors associated with stray light and allows for measurement of samples through clear and transparent plastic bags.
Also available with the ruggedized cable feed and cable for applications requiring extra cold or harsh temperatures.

• Plant Probe

The same great design and functionality as the High Intensity Contact Probe with a lower intensity bulb position for non-destructive data collection from live vegetation and other heat sensitive targets.
Combine the Plant Probe with the ASD Leaf Clip (shown right) for easy one-handed functionality with improved measurements.

ASD’s Leaf Clip assembly is designed specifically for use with the Plant Probe to simplify the process of collecting spectra on live vegetation. The unique design includes a gentle trigger lock/release gripping system for holding the target sample in place without removing the leaf from its habitat, or inflicting damage.
• Leaf Clip Assembly

The Leaf Clip offers the added benefit of a two-sided, rotating head. Each side has an embedded background panel making the Leaf Clip assembly ideal for both reflectance (black panel face) and transmittance (white panel face) measurements.

The Leaf Clip also works with ASD’s other Contact Probes, offering one-handed functionality and improved measurements on thin targets, including mosquito netting (used in international efforts to fight malaria epidemics), films, and others.
• Muglight (High Intensity Source Probe)
The ASD High Intensity Muglight is designed for analysis of raw materials requiring reflectance and absorbance measurements. It can measure samples through glass vials, or using the ASD sampling tray adapter. It’s unique and innovative design minimizes measurement errors associated with stray light and specular reflected components.

• Hi-Brite Muglight

The same design, features, and benefits of the High Intensity Muglight, but with a higher intensity illumination setting on the sample window. This higher intensity illumination is ideal for inorganic applications, and is recommended for use with the TerraSpec®, FieldSpec® 3 Hi-Res, and TerraSpec® 5100 and 2600 models.

Reflectance Probes

ASD offers a variety of reflectance probes for various contact reflectance measurements. A selection of spacer attachments can be combined with the reflectance probe for distance uniformity depending upon the sample size and type.

• Turn Table

When your application requires analysis of irregularly shaped or non-homogeneous samples, the ASD Turntable is ideal for obtaining a highly accurate average. Especially useful for instrument owners in the grain, agriculture, pulp and paper, food, plastics, and mining industries.

• Multi-purpose Fiber optic Fixture
The Multi-purpose Cuvette Fixture is a must have for liquid analysis applications. With a user changeable path-length setting from 0.5mm to 50mm, this accessory is sure to solve your application needs.
Stand the fixture on its end and you are able to do transmission measurements of thin films, or small volume liquids with the use of a microscope slide and cover slip.

• Integrating Sphere
Integrating spheres collect reflected light from samples over a full hemisphere. The sphere, by nature of its internal diffuse (lambertian) reflection and integration of the energy, is insensitive to directional reflectance features coming from the sample, and therefore, gives a very repeatable “averaged” response to the reflectance of the sample placed in the beam at the sphere port. Sample placement and incidence beam/collection alignment are less critical to the measurement results because the integrating sphere looks at representative averaged energy from all angles at the same time.


he RTS-3ZC integrating sphere features a 13º/D geometry to allow near normal incidence at 13º and diffuse collection via the instrument’s fiber optic bundle. The interior of the integrating sphere is made of Zenith diffuse polymer material, a solid, machined form of PTFE. Zenith® is a highly reflective (>95%) and Lambertian reflector over the broad spectral range of 350-2500 nm, which provides maximum efficiency and optical performance. A specially designed collimated tungsten light source, included with the sphere, delivers close to solar irradiance levels at the sample.

The base sphere assembly includes six ports designed to accept supplied sample holders, light source assembly, fiber optic adapter, light trap, and port plugs. Two nominal 99% Zenith® diffuse reference standards, one calibrated and one uncalibrated are included with the assembly for absolute or relative spectral reflectance measurements

Illumination and Light Sources:

• Fiber Optic Illuminator:
The Fiberoptic Illuminator is a portable light source for use with ASD instruments and sampling accessories that don’t have a built-in light source.

• ASD Pro Lamp:
For indoor lab diffuse reflectance measurements over the region 350 - 2500 nm. The ASD Pro Lamp is a 14.5 Volt 50 Watt Lamp that is tripod mountable and adapted especially for indoor lab diffuse reflectance measurements over the region 350 - 2500 nm.

    Various Accessories

    Attenuator: 
    The light sources of ASD may be ver glossy for some fiberoptics. In order to have signal saturation during the measurements, this attenuator is plugged into fiberoptics.

    • Cuvette Adapter:
    This adapter lets the Standart FieldSpec fiberoptics connects to the following interfaces:
    - Cuvette holder
    - ASD Multi-Purpose Fiberoptic Fixture
    - Long Path Cell Holder
    - Filter Wheel.

    • Direct irradiance attachment: 
    This accessory is used with ASD Full Sky Irradiance Remote Cosine Receptor. It limits the field of view (FOV) of the receptor. This accessory is used for measuring the direct components of solar illumination.
    Contents: 3 no. FOV modules (2.0,1.5 and 0.5 degrees)

    • Fiberoptic Reflectance Probe :
    ASD offers a variety of reflectance probes for various contact reflectance measurements. A selection of spacer attachments can be combined with the reflectance probe for distance uniformity depending upon the sample size and type.

    • TS Battery Pack
    12V. Acid Gel Cell Battery is an optional accessory for LabSpec2600 and AgriSpec spectrometers. It gives additional power changing between 4-9 hours time due to the configuration on the spectrometer. Battery charging system is sold seperately. 

    • Filter-Wheel:

    The ASD Filter Wheel — the powerful little tool you need to guarantee the calibration of your ASD instrument prior to each operation. The Filter Wheel tests wavelength, linearity, and noise, thereby rapidly verifying the instrument is in compliance and meeting USP, GMP, and ISO requirements.
    The Filter Wheel comes with user friendly wizard-enhanced software to simplify the two to three minute testing process. This powerful software also logs past test results, allowing you to track and analyze performance trends.

    Compact (4.5"x2.5"x4" or 11.43 cm x 6.35 cm x 10.16 cm) and lightweight (1.5 lbs. or .68 kg), the Filter Wheel has six internal filters, and works with QualitySpec® Pro and LabSpec® instruments.
    • Remote Trigger:
    This accesory is useful to collect spectras by just clicking on the trigger. This trigger uses the USB interface and can be installed easily from CD-ROM or stick pads.

    • Referance Panels (Spectralons) :
    There are many referance panels existing and changes according to the sizes and dimensions. All the panels sell seperately.
